This is a very sturdy machine, well built. The controller box is detachable. Yes, the top (lid) portion of the press is going to be wobbly, that is super easy to fix with a few turns of a wrench. My boyfriend added a couple of large washers to the bolts which increased the firmness (removed wobbliness) of the lid. The only reason this unit didn't get 5 stars across the board is because it does not heat evenly or frankly accurately. I had to adjust to accommodate the average temperature offage. So if my project called for a temperature hold of 365 degrees Fahrenheit, I adjusted it to read 395f. The controller goes up fairly high. I have successfully done 30 shirts front AND back with zero issues. This little press is a workhorse. REMEMBER - you are NOT getting a $300-$400 value when you pay less than $200 for a machine with free shipping! The functions I needed for my budget was the size, (15x15) and the pull out "drawer". I got both of those. I was not willing to go higher than $225. I got what I paid for. If you are willing to do some very minor tweaks, tightening some bolts and checking your temp (I use a laser heat gun) and adjust to the offage, then this may work for you. If you are not willing or able to do that, then you will have to be willing to shell out at least another $150 bucks. While I don't think we should always accept mediocrity, I feel this press works "well enough" for me and it was very consistent. I do not have a business, but I am now going to really put it to the test over the next few weeks and do an order (same business as before) 100 shirts! In summary: If you need something that saves time (presses quickly), is safe (pull out drawer), and budget friendly and you need it "now", this is a reasonable choice. Otherwise, beware that the temperatures MAY be uneven. In my experience, this is not a horrible press at all.
